We offer affordable fitness with high-quality equipment whenever you want it. BODi has so many programs that the membership will probably appeal to all sorts of styles of exercise… but they do all tend to be fitness studio focused. We think this is great for beginners or those looking to achieve a specific goal, in a specific time frame… such as weight loss, muscle development, etc. At the time of writing this BODi review, we’ve followed along to hundreds of online workouts. This is quite common across fitness apps, but the ability to download classes so you can access them offline is a great feature to use. We also found the programs and workouts are great for all levels… there really is something for everyone.
BODi Alternatives

BODi offers live classes, which reflects where the home workout industry is going. The main difference we’ve noticed with the rebrand is an increase in content and messaging around mindset/mindfulness and the introduction of BODi blocks, which are like bite-size fitness plans (3 weeks long). In March 2023, the company rebranded from Beachbody to BODi (pronounced “body”) to reflect a more inclusive and sustainable approach to fitness, as we’ll discuss in detail later on. I’m Adam Kemp, a professional basketball player, fitness consultant, and author with over a decade of international experience. I hold a degree in Sports Communication from Marist College and a master’s in Nutrition Education from American University. My career has spanned countries like Poland, Hungary, and Greece, where I’ve gained unique insights into fitness, nutrition, and sports performance.
- For anyone inspired by Sondre Berg’s movement on social media or simply wanting expert calisthenics coaching, this app delivers professional-quality programming at a fraction of the cost of in-person training.
- Particularly for home workouts, you may find you actually want to exercise outside, or in the park, in which case, being able to access all the content offline is definitely a bonus.
- Calisthenics has exploded in popularity as people discover the incredible strength and control you can build using just your bodyweight.
- Honestly, it’s great, and as I was doing research for this review, I pulled up an old 21 Day Fix video, and it made me miss it.
- They push you to buy a lot of extra workout packages, branded products, and supplements, which aren’t really necessary.
- Shred offers impressive variety, from guided strength training to HIIT, cardio, yoga, and sport-specific programs.
For Beginners Only
Others, like me, don’t love the heavy-handed marketing and the over-the-top Beachbody hype train. They push you to buy a lot of extra workout packages, branded products, and supplements, which aren’t really necessary. I think this approach is good once you master it, but for beginners I would kind of prefer a simpler strategy. Everything is color coded and there are so many customization and swapping-out options, it can make you go cross-eyed. Once you find the right program and get started, you’ll do great, but the first steps here can be difficult. The sorting options are helpful, but I just think there’s so much content to consume here, a few beginners are bound to be scared away.

Is there a spinning workout in Beachbody on Demand?
I was ready to dive in a little deeper so I downloaded the Beachbody on Demand app on my iPhone, which only took a second to set up, and started exploring the workout programs. The membership includes interactive live workouts, which is similar to what the BODi service offers. Beachbody rebranded to BODi (Beachbody On Demand Interactive) in 2023 to reflect its evolution beyond traditional home workouts. The new name emphasizes a holistic approach to health, focusing on fitness, nutrition, mindset, mad muscles and community.
Live Classes for Immersive Experience
Here at Fitness Drum, we believe in editorial integrity and providing genuine value to our readers. To cut through the noise, we tested over 40 of the most popular fitness apps and programs over several months, evaluating each one on price, ease of use, workout quality, and enjoyment. Overall, the magnitude of the Beachbody on Demand or BODi workout library is incredible. For just a couple of bucks a month on average, you’ll get an absolute ton of value and save a fortune versus joining a gym. The production is slick and high-quality, and you get everything you need rolled into one platform including nutrition plans and even some coaching.
Eating plans are complex
If you’re serious about getting results and want a complete system that delivers structure, education, and motivation, the BODi App is absolutely worth it. My connection with Team Beachbody goes back over a decade, to my college days, when I first tried P90X Ab Ripper X.
How BODi works & what happens after you join
The caveat is that BODi’s nutritional plans do include quite a lot of supplements (“Shakeology”). In general, the flexibility of subscribing to a fitness streaming app as opposed to a gym is much more suited to those who travel a lot or don’t want to be tied down to a single location for all their workouts. Accountability can play a huge role in helping you achieve your fitness goals. When your workout buddies and coach are there to cheer you on and support you, you’re definitely less likely to flake on a workout and skip it. Instead, you’ll feel more motivated to participate and share your journey with others.
BODi Home Fitness & Workouts
Beachbody on Demand, now known as BODi, offers one of the most comprehensive and interactive at-home fitness platforms available. After joining, I immediately noticed the platform’s vast workout library, engaging live classes, and a strong community-driven approach. If you’re considering a new fitness routine, understanding what BODi offers is essential for choosing the right at-home workout solution. If you want to build strength, look at Alpha Progression, Fitbod, or Muscle Booster. Most apps on this list offer a free trial, so it is worth testing two or three before settling on one.
The in-app messaging allows you to communicate with your coach anytime, receiving responses typically within a few hours. This accessibility provides accountability while offering flexibility better than scheduled in-person sessions. We selected Shred as the best for circuit training because it balances sophisticated AI adaptation with practical usability. The app learns your patterns and adjusts programming accordingly, providing a surprisingly personalized experience. StretchIt claimed top spot in our recent comparison guide to the best stretching apps… and for good reason. This app is well priced, easy to use and comes with a whole host of stretching programs and challenges designed to help you get more flexible.
Progress tracking is comprehensive, with visualizations showing strength gains, volume progression, and consistency metrics. The app’s ability to identify plateaus and automatically adjust programming helps prevent stagnation. You don’t need to follow a specific training program – the app simply assesses your current strength capabilities and highlights where you stand. This makes it perfect for anyone, regardless of their current training style. Our Alpha Progression review includes more details on what it’s like and our experience using it and how it compares to some of the other best strength training apps.
There are no intimidating “beginner” or “advanced” categories – just personalized insights that help you understand your unique strength profile and how to improve it. The exercises chosen are accessible for all fitness levels and focus on movements that translate directly to better daily function. Fitbod uses an exercise algorithm to adapt your workout plan based on your ability, past performance, and available equipment. For someone just starting their fitness journey, this seamless experience means you’ll never feel lost in the gym. What I like about how Muscle Booster handles progression is that it requires you to complete your current workouts before unlocking new ones. It sounds simple, but it enforces a level of accountability that a lot of apps skip over, and it ensures you are actually building a foundation rather than jumping ahead before you are ready.
No Gym? Exercise at Home
This flexibility is invaluable for anyone who trains in multiple environments. Plus, you won’t be able to properly track which workouts you’ve completed if a bunch of other people are logging in and watching the videos. There are at least 6 yoga workouts inside BODi as of this writing, including 3-Day Yoga Refresh, 3-Week Yoga Retreat, Beachbody Yoga Study, Yoga Booty Ballet, and a few more.
Get healthy & fit: gym, exercise, workout, weight loss (formerly Beachbody)
Rather than needing separate apps for nutrition tracking and fasting, Yazio combines both seamlessly, providing a holistic view of your eating patterns. The free version provides solid functionality including calorie tracking, basic fasting features, and access to many recipes. This allows you to test the app’s core value before considering the PRO upgrade.
